This report shares the findings from the research phase of a multi-year project exploring the barriers that prevent people in work from improving their English language skills through ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). It outlines new research exploring the barriers to accessing ESOL experienced by people who are in work, and how ESOL providers and employers can respond to these challenges.
The research was conducted by High Trees between May 2024 – April 2025.
